The Bukovyna peasant Rusak leaves the wretched Transcarpathian lands and, together with his little daughter Orysia, travels to Canada – maybe, he'll be lucky there?.. In the strange land, he forgets about poverty, his grandchild grows there, there he buries his daughter, but he does not discover happiness. And now Rusak, taking advantage of "Intourist" services, goes to his land, where he once was happy...
